So far, So good!

Well, I have been in Alaska for over a week now, and what can I say? I am completely in love. What a state. I never thought I would visit this place, let alone, live in it!

The weather has been gorgeous; 70's everyday with the sun shining! Pearl and I have been hiking the costal trail--she loves it. She always finds a dandelion patch to gorge herself on--she thinks she hit the jackpot!

I am still waiting for her to see a moose; as exciting as I am to see her see one, I know she is going to bark like crazy at it, and well, you can imagine what might go down.

Tomorrow I start my first day of work! Bring it on. It is about time. I am excited to meet everyone and to get a paycheck!

Going to bed is so hard--the sun shines all day, so I have so much added energy. I think it will be awhile to get used to it, but it is really neat to be in a place like this. Everyone is out all the time. I'm thinking about going to Seward this weekend, looks beautiful! We will see how the week goes.

Well, I hope this takes off like Julie and Julia and I eventually get my own movie. Maybe I will start making salmon recipes that sweep the nation--you never know! Or I will just wait to be on the Real Housewives of Anchorage (guest spot, not an actual wife--no worries everyone!)

Go Hawks!!

  1. I am so excited you are doing this! We can all feel part of your experience this way. But you better believe I'll be out there live in the flesh to experience it for myself. Thx for making a good excuse for us to get out of the continental US. I predict you'll have your own show someday. Even if you're the next Paula Deen of salmon! I hope you fall out of love with AK in 3-5 years however and come to the great state of KS! ;o) Looking forward to your next post.
